The opportunity
We are in search of a passionate Secondary Music Teacher to join our growing Music Department. This position involves teaching students from KS3 to KS5 with enthusiasm and energy, nurturing an appreciation for various music genres both within the classroom and through extracurricular activities.
As a member of our academic Music team, you will work closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Music to enhance the presence of music throughout the College. Your role will involve inspiring students, delivering captivating lessons, making effective use of resources, and maintaining high standards of learning and achievement.
Our inclusive and high-achieving department organizes exciting events, such as the National Battle of the Bands and Qatar School Choir of the Year, and participates in esteemed competitions like Young Musician of the Gulf and the COBIS Music Festival. With a team of six instrumental specialists, we host a vibrant calendar of concerts, recitals, and productions throughout the year.
This role is ideal for a creative, forward-thinking, and dedicated team player who is eager to contribute to a lively department.
About you
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Music degree (BMus, B.Ed. [Music], BA) along with a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, iQTS); applications that do not include these credentials will not be reviewed.
You should be a driven professional with a genuine enthusiasm for music, possessing excellent subject knowledge and a proven track record of delivering academic success and enhancing student performance. Proficient keyboard skills for accompanying choirs and ensembles are preferred. Strong organizational skills, effective communication, and proficient time management are essential, along with the capability to lead various co-curricular ensembles. Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Music (or UK equivalent) is mandatory, and familiarity with music technology is advantageous. You should have shown success in your current role, be highly motivated, and possess a true passion for music, along with a willingness to positively contribute to the school’s vision.
As a British international institution, all instruction is conducted in English, thus a high standard of written and spoken English is required.
