- Collaborate with staff to assess individual student requirements and cultivate a safe, engaging, and supportive educational atmosphere

DESCRIPTION
"Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom…." - Bahá’u’lláh
Our Special and Inclusive Education program draws inspiration from this quote from the Baha'i Writings. We recognize the immense potential within every individual and aim to uncover and nurture this potential in every student.
Our Special Education program offers customized, individualized learning experiences for students with autism, Down syndrome, or other mental or physical challenges. Presently, with four or five teachers catering to eight students, we are able to foster a nurturing and enriching environment. Our program includes tailored academic instruction, life skills training, community access, and targeted inclusion, as well as speech therapy when applicable.
Adopting an inclusive educational model, we support over twenty-five K-12 students with special educational needs, including dyslexia and difficulties with memory or attention. Four resource teachers employ diverse strategies to ensure that our inclusive students can engage with mainstream lessons effectively.
WORKING HOURS AND SCHEDULE
Teachers work 36 hours each week, consisting of up to twenty 45-minute teaching sessions, various responsibilities, and some planning time.
Throughout the year, there are approximately 30 days of holidays in Macau and at the school, including breaks for Winter and the Chinese Spring Festival, as well as about 50 days of summer vacation. Monthly Saturday workdays, which often promote community involvement and extension activities, allow us to extend our holiday periods while fulfilling contact day obligations.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The annual base salary, inclusive of housing allowance, is approximately US$44,000 after taxes, with slight increases based on years of experience. This amount does not cover the annual travel allowance, a New Year’s bonus, pension contributions, and an annual re-enlistment bonus equivalent to one month’s salary. Additionally, the Macanese government generously provides a professional development subsidy of at least US$600 per month for teachers. When combined, the after-tax total compensation for teachers is around US$58,000.
Benefits include local healthcare coverage, reduced tuition for up to two dependents enrolled in the school, internal professional development opportunities, and assistance with apartment searching, which includes a one-week hotel stay.
START DATE
Early to mid-August 2025.
