Secondary MFL Teacher (Founding Role – August 2026)

RAK Academy Al Hamra:

Located in the southern part of Ras Al Khaimah within the Al Hamra community, RAK Academy – Al Hamra is a growing primary and lower secondary institution that delivers a customized UK National Curriculum from Pre-K to Grade 8, along with UAE MOE subjects. Our secondary school, serving Grades 6 to 8, will accept its inaugural students in August 2026. We are accredited by the British Schools Overseas (BSO), placing us alongside leading international British schools, and we are fully capable of providing the ECT induction for teachers.

The Role (Founding position):

RAK Academy – Al Hamra is seeking a passionate, positive, and inspiring MFL Teacher specializing in Spanish and French to become a part of our dynamic department for the Academic Year 26-27. This is a remarkable opportunity to influence curriculum development, cultivate departmental culture, establish assessment frameworks, and set teaching standards in our new school opening in August 2026.

As a founding educator, the Secondary MFL Teacher will:

• Deliver engaging, high-quality MFL lessons for Grades 6–8
• Contribute to the design and implementation of the MFL curriculum
• Support enrichment activities such as MFL competitions, clubs, and extension programs
• Collaborate with the Head of MFL and other leaders to ensure smooth continuity and progression
• Engage in curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental advancement
• Teach across various key stages as the school develops

Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish and French.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong grasp of effective teaching and learning methodologies
• High proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance teaching and learning
• Ability to engage, inspire, and support students
• Reflective practitioner with a knack for creative thinking and innovation
• Positive and enthusiastic team player with a growth mindset
• Willingness to actively engage in extracurricular activities
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level courses (Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply)

Desirable:

• Training in UK Curriculum or International Baccalaureate.
• Proven success in enhancing student outcomes.
• Experience in contributing to or leading curriculum development.
