About This Role

We are in search of an outstanding Secondary Inclusion Teacher for a role commencing in September 2026.

GEMS FirstPoint School (FPS), founded in 2014, is located in the vibrant Villa community of Dubai. As a Premium British Curriculum institution, FPS provides an exceptional educational experience to around 2,000 students from Nursery (ages 2) through Year 13, with ambitious plans for future expansion. The school has experienced significant growth and is well-regarded, boasting a diverse student body representing over 90 nationalities.

FPS features state-of-the-art facilities, including a specialized center for sports and performing arts, swimming pools, a theatre, a sports hall, and dedicated rooms for dance, drama, and music. The main campus is also equipped with fully functional science laboratories, Design Technology workshops, computer labs, and innovative learning environments. The school is committed to inclusivity and its core values, creating an atmosphere that promotes creativity, well-being, and a love for learning.

Our curriculum is well-rounded, balanced, and enhanced through various co-curricular activities, with a strong emphasis on personalized learning to support all students in achieving their full potential. Students follow internationally recognized pathways such as GCSEs, BTECs, and A Levels. Faculty members benefit from a culture of continuous professional development, taking advantage of various training opportunities. FPS also serves as a training venue for NPQ programs, with senior leaders offering NPQSL and NPQH qualifications throughout the region.

The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs during the secondary phase, working closely with teachers, leaders, and families to ensure inclusive and high-quality educational experiences for all learners.

The ideal candidates will:

  • Embrace and champion the ethos and standards of excellence that align with the GEMS Core Values
  • Deliver targeted inclusion support during the secondary phase, showcasing a strong understanding of SEND, EAL, and different learning requirements
  • Develop and implement high-quality, differentiated support sessions and in-class strategies tailored to individual student needs
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum content and teaching methods, ensuring inclusivity for all learners
  • Create, implement, and assess Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies
  • Monitor, evaluate, and track student progress, using data to inform interventions and support planning
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being, independence, and self-confidence
  • Maintain accurate records of student support, progress, and provisions
  • Assist students with various needs, including those with SEND, English as an Additional Language, and those needing extra academic support or enrichment
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and external agencies when required
  • Promote overall student progress and well-being, providing guidance and pastoral support
  • Participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, contributing to whole-school initiatives
  • Utilize technology proficiently to enhance learning and inclusion
  • Engage in performance appraisal processes, performance management, and ongoing professional development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create resources, strategies, and inclusive teaching methodologies
  • Comply with all GEMS policies, procedures, and safeguarding standards
  • Support school events and broader community engagement initiatives

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Educational Needs, or a related field
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting students with additional learning needs in a secondary setting
  • Thorough understanding of inclusive education and pedagogical approaches

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
