St. George’s School is seeking a passionate educator to join our Secondary level English teaching team, starting in August 2026.
The School
St. George’s School has been a vital part of the international community in Duisburg-Düsseldorf for over 20 years, delivering a comprehensive curriculum within a nurturing environment. What began as a small institution has transformed into a lively community of approximately 650 students, aged 2-18, representing a multitude of nationalities.
The National Curriculum is implemented throughout the school, and we offer the IB Diploma in our Sixth Form.
As part of a network of three schools located across Germany, St. George’s provides the successful candidate with numerous opportunities for professional growth and career advancement within the school group.
The Location
Located on a newly built campus in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region, St. George’s School enjoys excellent transport connections to Düsseldorf, Duisburg, and the broader Rhine-Ruhr area.
Düsseldorf, the sixth largest city in Germany, is a vibrant cultural center with a diverse international community. Centrally situated in Europe, Düsseldorf offers a high quality of life and numerous opportunities for travel and cultural experiences.
The school is only 15km from Düsseldorf airport, which has many daily flights to the UK, and high-speed rail links enhance access to various European locations.
The Role
We are excited to welcome a qualified English Teacher to our secondary education team.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic educator with a strong history of enabling students to achieve their full potential. We are looking for someone who combines experience with enthusiasm and a genuine love for teaching that inspires our students.
Our secondary department caters to students aged 11-18 and encompasses the Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and IB Diploma curricula. We prepare students for IGCSE examinations in both English Language and English Literature, and we offer English Literature and English Language and Literature options at both Standard and Higher IB levels. A solid comprehension of the British education system is crucial. While prior experience with the IB curriculum is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement. Please note that we will not consider applications from candidates whose experience is exclusively in EAL.
Given the school's dynamic environment, flexibility and a willingness to assist colleagues are vital. A strong interest in participating in the school’s pastoral and extracurricular initiatives is also advantageous.
To access detailed information, please download our application pack from the "documents" section.
Applications will only be accepted through the WhatSchool platform.

The application deadline is Sunday, April 12, 2026. The school reserves the right to contact exceptional candidates before this date.
St. George’s is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and expects all staff to uphold this commitment. Therefore, the successful candidate will undergo enhanced background checks.
