About Al Basma School
Al Basma is a well-regarded and highly sought-after ENC School. We are looking for a Chemistry specialist with A level experience to join our accomplished Secondary Science team.
Our school, which has seven forms of entry, currently serves over 2000 students from FS1 to Year 13. A modern Primary block for Year 3 to Year 6 was opened in September 2020.

We adhere to the National Curriculum of England and the updated 2020 Development Matters Framework in EYFS. For students in Year 4 to Year 10, we utilize both GL CAT4 and GL Progress assessments. Additionally, we offer a variety of GCSE, iGCSE, iAS, and A Levels from Cambridge, Edexcel, and Pearson exam boards to our older students, and we have begun introducing BTEC qualifications to personalize learning pathways.
The school received its initial BSO (British Schools Overseas) accreditation in May 2016 during its second year and has continually improved, achieving good ratings with an increasing number of outstanding features in May 2022. Since January 2017, we have consistently attained Band A ratings in the ADEK Irtiq'aa inspections, and in February 2022, we solidified our Very Good ADEK rating with numerous outstanding features.

We invite applications from candidates possessing one of the following qualifications:
- An internationally recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Y7 to 13 Science Education with a Chemistry specialization and QTS or equivalent.
- An internationally recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a closely related field, along with an internationally recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE or PGDE in Secondary Science with a Chemistry specialization and QTS or equivalent.
- An internationally recognized Bachelor’s Degree in any subject, paired with an internationally recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE or PGDE in Secondary Science with QTS or equivalent, plus two years of experience teaching Secondary Chemistry.
Successful applicants must provide two supporting references (including the most recent employer) and a police clearance certificate, ACRO, or DBS issued no more than 3 months prior. Candidates traveling alone or with a spouse who has their own international package will benefit most from our offer.
