* Implement the designated curriculum while demonstrating current and thorough knowledge of subject matter.
* Design and deliver engaging lessons that inspire students. Develop and utilize suitable materials and classroom settings to accommodate diverse learning preferences.
* Provide written documentation of lesson planning and preparation upon request. Maintain organized records of curriculum and yearly plans, student attendance, teaching materials, assessment strategies, and more.
* Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct consistently.
* Teach assigned students according to their individual requirements, employing effective teaching methods that cater to various needs and abilities, including late arrivals, ESL learners, and students with differing academic capabilities.
* Assign and evaluate student work. Assess, document, and communicate students' academic progress, growth, and achievements, using these assessments to tailor the curriculum to individual needs.
* Display proficiency in utilizing media and technology effectively within the classroom.
* Foster the overall progress and welfare of students, providing guidance on academic matters.
* Engage in communication with external parties when necessary (e.g., Ministry of Education representatives).
* Take part in performance appraisal and management processes, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Collaborate with colleagues to prepare and enhance teaching materials, resources, course designs, and pastoral care systems.
* Participate in and take a leadership role in co-curricular and extracurricular activities at the school. Encourage positive working relationships through active leadership and the sharing of ideas, resources, and experiences.
* Observe and supervise students to ensure safe and appropriate behavior. Develop and implement strategies that promote self-discipline and address disruptive conduct.
* Exemplify and promote cultural awareness and appreciation, fostering a passion for learning.
* Assist in the planning and organization of school events and activities (e.g., inter-house competitions, concerts, school performances, award ceremonies, etc.).
* Communicate regularly with parents, promoting the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep them informed about their children's progress while respecting confidentiality regarding student information.
* Demonstrate initiative and commitment beyond regular working hours when tasks demand additional effort.
