Pennine School is a newly established independent special school catering to students aged 10–18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are dedicated to fostering a calm, nurturing, and purposeful environment that supports every student in achieving academic and personal success. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Primary School Teacher to join our expanding team. This is an exceptional opportunity to play a pivotal role in establishing a specialist school that addresses individual learning needs and equips students for success in GCSEs, functional skills, and beyond.

About the Role
As a Primary School Teacher at Pennine School, your responsibilities will include:

- Teaching KS1 and KS2 while tailoring your approach to meet each student's needs
- Delivering engaging and motivating lessons that foster confidence and literacy skills
- Effectively utilizing data to assess student progress and inform your planning
- Collaborating closely with specialist support staff and multi-agency partners to enhance student outcomes
- Building positive relationships with students and families to boost engagement and well-being
- Contributing to curriculum planning within a broad, balanced, and personalized framework

Person Specification
You should be able to showcase the following:

Training & Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) along with a relevant degree
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- SEN and behavior-related training is preferred but not mandatory

Experience
- Proven experience teaching KS1 and KS2 with measurable outcomes
- Background in supporting learners with SEMH or challenging behavior
- Proficient in using assessment data to monitor progress

Professional Knowledge
- Strong grasp of curriculum planning, assessment, and effective teaching strategies
- Comfortable using ICT for educational purposes
- Familiarity with national policies, statutory frameworks, and school improvement initiatives

Personal Attributes
- Ability to inspire students and engage adults, including parents/carers
- Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities
- Highly organized with effective time management skills
- Resilient, reflective, and dedicated to the field of specialist SEMH education
