Raffles American School (RAS) is seeking a dedicated and innovative Preschool (K1) Homeroom Teacher to join our Middle & High School team for the academic year 2026.
Position Overview
Raffles American School Bangkok is looking to welcome a nurturing, creative, and student-centered Early Years Teacher into our international school community. The perfect candidate will develop engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons that promote curiosity, independence, and vital skills among our youngest learners. Job Summary
At RAS, Early Years Teachers are expected to:
- Inspire and engage young learners through play-based and inquiry-driven activities.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Advocate for inclusion, ensuring that every child is valued and supported throughout their educational journey.
- Collaborate respectfully within the school community and contribute to ongoing improvements.
- Participate in continuous professional development, embracing innovative learning and best practices.
- Lead the design of a curriculum that aligns with the needs and interests of Early Years students.
- Work from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on regular school days, typically encompassing around 22 teaching hours, 5 break hours, 5 planning hours, 3 meeting/training hours, and 5 duty hours each week.
Specific Responsibilities
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment for young learners.
- Develop and deliver age-appropriate lessons that encourage social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
- Assess and document student progress through observation and portfolio assessments.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and colleagues regarding student development and wellbeing.
- Demonstrate professional behavior and promote positive conduct among students.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and collaborate with colleagues.
- Encourage parental involvement in their children's early education.
Required Skills & Experience
- Fluency in spoken and written English to ensure effective communication.
- Teaching license valid for full-time positions at a US public school for Early Years/Kindergarten level, or an equivalent credential.
- Preferred prior experience in teaching Early Years or Kindergarten.
- Commitment to professional standards and a compassionate teaching approach.

We offer competitive salaries for fully qualified and licensed teachers in full-time roles. Please note that no additional housing stipend is available. Candidates will receive reimbursement for their flight to Thailand and round-trip airfare to their home country at the end of their contract (for overseas applicants only). RAS will also cover visa and work-permit expenses. Medical, accident, disability, and life insurance are included as part of the benefits package.
