About This Role

Cranleigh Abu Dhabi is excited to invite applications for the position of Advanced Teaching Assistants to become a vital part of our vibrant team starting in 2025.

Main Responsibilities

- Deliver personalized support to individual students or groups, both in and out of the classroom, ensuring they engage fully in school activities while promoting their social, emotional, and physical well-being.
- Actively implement health and safety protocols to establish a safe and nurturing learning atmosphere.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students, contributing to tracking and supporting their educational journey.
- Offer specialized assistance to students with additional needs, including emotional or behavioral challenges, to enhance their social and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborate with class teachers to maintain accurate student records and ensure effective documentation of progress.
- Organize and prepare displays to highlight students' work, celebrating their accomplishments and enriching the classroom environment.
- Support teachers with administrative duties, such as photocopying and material preparation, to enhance classroom operations.
- Uphold the school's core values, comply with health and safety standards, and adhere to all relevant laws and policies.
- Exhibit professionalism through appropriate attire, punctuality, and reliability, serving as a positive role model for students.
- Participate in team and staff meetings, working together with colleagues to improve the educational experience for students.
- Collaborate with external professionals, including speech and occupational therapists, to support the development of students and address individual needs.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the principal to adapt to the evolving needs of the school.

Specific Duties

Academic Support:
- Provide academic assistance, including facilitating group instruction as directed by the teacher and offering individualized support to students.
- Demonstrate and guide students through various instructional activities to reinforce learning and foster engagement.
- Monitor and assist students with assigned tasks, providing corrections and guidance to help them stay on course.
- Encourage and praise students to build their self-confidence and communicate their progress to the teacher.

Classroom Management and Behavior Support:
- Help maintain a clean and organized classroom, including preparing materials and rearranging resources at the end of the school day.
- Take attendance and supervise students in classrooms and other school areas.
- Contribute to developing and implementing the school’s behavior policies, fostering positive behavior and self-esteem among students.
- Address minor behavioral issues in accordance with school policies, ensuring a consistent and supportive approach.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in any field is required.

Minimum Experience:
- One year of experience in the education sector, or
- One year of studying education, or
- Two years of experience in a people-oriented or service-related position.
