Position Overview:
As our school continues to grow, we are excited to invite a passionate, energetic, and motivated MYP Mathematics and Sciences teacher to join us in a full-time capacity. In collaboration with the MYP coordinator, you will play a key role in shaping the curriculum and creating stimulating units that ignite our students' curiosity in these subjects.
Qualifications:
The perfect candidate will:
• Hold the necessary teaching qualifications and possess experience in an IB MYP setting.
• Be knowledgeable about MYP Mathematics and MYP Sciences instruction.
• Have a robust understanding of educational theories alongside the IB pedagogical framework.
• Demonstrate exceptional collaborative and interpersonal skills.
• Adopt an inquiry-based teaching and learning methodology.
• Have a background in integrating technology into inquiry-focused education.
• Excel in a multicultural teaching environment.
• Be fluent in English at a native level.
• Ideally, hold an IB training certificate in MYP Mathematics and/or MYP Sciences (though this is not a requirement).
• Have experience teaching IB DP Mathematics (this is preferred but not essential).
Key Responsibilities:
In addition to fulfilling full-time teaching responsibilities (up to 23 contact hours), your role will involve:
• Documenting the inquiry, action, and reflection stages of each unit on Toddle.
• Maintaining updated subject overviews for the courses you teach.
• Actively participating in a weekly collaborative planning meeting with the MYP coordinator.
• Engaging in horizontal/vertical planning sessions weekly with MYP colleagues.
• Fulfilling duty care responsibilities as outlined in the school's duty schedule.
• Leading one extracurricular club each term.
