Year 1 Class Teacher – Maternity Cover (3 Months)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Class Teacher to join our Primary team on a three-month maternity cover contract. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching in line with the British National Curriculum, ensuring continuity and stability for pupils during the cover period.

The Role

• Teach a Year 1 class following the British Curriculum

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons

• Deliver effective phonics and early literacy instruction

• Assess, record, and report on pupil progress

• Create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and Primary leadership

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE / iPGCE or equivalent)

• Has experience teaching Key Stage 1 / Year 1

• Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management skills

• Has good knowledge of phonics and early reading development

• Is committed to safeguarding and child protection

• Experience in a British or international school setting
