About This Role
We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Lead Teacher of Maths to become part of our exceptional team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA).
This is a permanent, full-time role on Teaching terms with a salary range from MPS–UPS, accompanied by a TLR 2.1 allowance of £3,527, commencing in September 2026.
We are seeking candidates who are qualified teachers (QTS) with a proven history of successfully teaching the 11–16 age group and a strong record of delivering high-quality lessons. You should possess deep subject knowledge in Mathematics and be well-informed about current curriculum advancements.
As a confident and effective communicator, you will excel at forming strong professional relationships. Your passion for education will drive your commitment to enhancing student achievement and fostering a love for learning among all students.

The primary purpose of the role involves not only the professional duties associated with all classroom teachers but also a significant role in elevating teaching standards, learning, and student achievement within the Mathematics curriculum.
In collaboration with the Curriculum Leader, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the development and execution of effective teaching and learning strategies
- Leading intervention strategies aimed at enhancing attainment and progress
- Overseeing curriculum delivery, planning, and student performance
- Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Ensuring high standards in assessment, record-keeping, and reporting
You will also step in for the Curriculum Leader when necessary and take charge of agreed areas of departmental leadership.
Leadership and curriculum responsibilities for the successful candidate will involve:
- Leading and supporting colleagues to improve teaching practices and student outcomes
- Participating in lesson observations, coaching, and mentoring
- Identifying and delivering high-quality CPD and professional development
- Cultivating a collaborative and high-performing team culture
- Contributing to the strategic advancement of the Maths curriculum
- Supporting school improvement priorities and self-evaluation efforts
