About This Role

Lead Practitioner - Mathematics

Contract: Lead Practitioner

Salary: LP7 - LP11

We are looking for a highly effective maths practitioner with a very clear first mission: help us make mathematics a story of transformation and success.

Pupils at our academy achieve strongly across many areas, and we are determined to build upon that success in mathematics. We are looking for an exceptional colleague to work alongside our existing team to strengthen pedagogy, share expertise, and collaboratively elevate outcomes. This is a hands-on, collaborative role; the successful candidate will be an exceptional classroom practitioner who teaches, models and coaches from within the department, working in partnership with our teachers to build sustainable capacity and ensure every student achieves their full potential.

There is so much to be proud of at Our Lady & St Chad Catholic Academy (OLSC). We have fantastic young people, committed staff, strong relationships, an ambitious curriculum and a school community with real energy, warmth and pride. OLSC is moving forward, expectations are high and there is a genuine determination that our students receive the very best education we can provide.

We are looking for an exceptional practitioner who sees the opportunity in front of us and wants to build, influence and embed improvement.

Our ambition is simple: maths will match the strength, ambition and success we see across OLSC.

We are determined to develop a high-quality, sustainable mathematics provision that meets the needs of our young people, builds their confidence and secures the outcomes of which we know they are capable.

As Lead Practitioner: Mathematics, you will be given the opportunity to make a genuine difference: modelling exceptional teaching, mentoring colleagues to support professional growth across the department, strengthening pedagogy and helping us to create a culture where every student believes they can succeed in maths.

There is a lot that is already great about OLSC. We now need someone great to help us accelerate our mathematics development.

If you are an exceptional maths teacher who wants to make your mark, we would love to hear from you.

Safeguarding Commitment
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and pre-employment medical clearance. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), online searches will also be carried out for shortlisted candidates. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

St Gabriel the Archangel CMAT

The successful candidate will be part of St Gabriel the Archangel CMAT, a family of 64 schools, with access to Trust-wide expertise, collaboration, professional development and exciting opportunities to grow your career.

As the school grows stronger, so can your influence, with opportunities to contribute to mathematical excellence across our wider Trust.

One school. An immediate mission. 64 schools of future opportunity.

Make a difference now. Build something that lasts. Grow with us.
