Junior School French Teacher Full-Time Position (LOA)
1 Year Contract Starting August 2026

We are in search of a skilled French teacher for our Junior School. The selected individual will teach French to students ranging from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 5, instilling a love for language learning through engaging and age-appropriate lessons. We seek a candidate who exhibits enthusiasm, compassion, subject matter expertise, excellence in teaching, and a history of curriculum innovation. A willingness to participate in co-curricular activities at the school is also vital.
This position will commence on Monday, August 31, 2026.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Teaching French to Junior School students (Junior Kindergarten - Grade 5)
- Crafting and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate French lessons
- Leading and engaging in co-curricular programs
- Attending Department & Division meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide events
Experience and Qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Education, Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate
- Qualifications in French as a Second Language (FSL)
- Preferred teaching experience of 1-3 years
- Good standing membership with the Ontario College of Teachers
- Comprehensive understanding of the Ontario curriculum
- A passion for creativity and innovation in education
- Commitment to fostering students' academic and personal growth, including the cultivation of essential learning skills
- Ability to engage with and support the objectives of Pickering College's Global Leadership Program
- Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance teaching and learning
- Experience working with young learners and creating a positive, nurturing classroom environment
Pickering College provides a competitive compensation package that includes a Health Benefits Plan and enrollment in the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. The salary range is determined by our salary grid, from $63,881 to $112,509.
