Humanities Teacher (Years 7–9)

Role Overview
Aldenham Prep School Riyadh is seeking a remarkable and motivated Humanities Teacher to deliver a vibrant and high-quality curriculum for Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9).
The successful candidate will instruct a combination of History, Geography, and/or integrated Humanities, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and global awareness in alignment with the British National Curriculum and the ethos of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Create and execute engaging Humanities lessons for Years 7, 8, and 9
- Teach across a range of subjects, such as:
- History
- Geography
- (Optional) Elements of global studies / integrated humanities
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the varied needs of all learners
- Utilize diverse assessment methods to monitor progress and inform teaching
- Maintain high expectations for behavior and academic success
Curriculum & Planning
- Participate in developing a cohesive and forward-thinking KS3 Humanities curriculum
- Ensure consistency with the British curriculum framework
- Incorporate cross-curricular links and global perspectives
- Create schemes of work, lesson plans, and educational resources
Assessment & Reporting
- Continuously assess and monitor student progress
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to students
- Compile reports following school policies
- Leverage data to improve student outcomes and support interventions
Pastoral & Safeguarding
- Act as a form tutor (if required) and help promote student wellbeing
- Uphold the school’s values, behavior expectations, and safeguarding protocols
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behavior, and academic performance
- Ensure a secure and inclusive learning environment
Collaboration & Professional Engagement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Humanities department and the broader school community
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
- Engage in extracurricular activities, trips, and enrichment programs
- Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Geography, or a related Humanities discipline
- Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience teaching KS3 students (Years 7–9)
- Strong understanding of the British National Curriculum
Desirable
- Experience in an international or British overseas educational setting
- Ability to teach across different Humanities subjects
- Knowledge of cross-curricular or thematic teaching approaches
