Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and exemplify a Culture of Kindness.
  • Advocate for and further the school’s mission and vision while leading all aspects of the divisional program.
  • Dedicate time and leadership to successfully execute the School Development Plan and formulate division-specific initiatives aligned with the school’s strategic objectives.
  • Positively influence the school’s culture and climate within a culturally diverse environment.
  • Exemplify and foster the IB Learner Profile and GEMS Core Values by acting with integrity, fairness, and ethical behavior.
  • Serve as the instructional leader for the division, maintaining a steadfast focus on high standards for student progress and achievement.
  • Be accountable for student learning through effective monitoring and evaluation of the instructional program, utilizing data and systems to drive sustainable improvements.
  • Use assessment outcomes to evaluate whether curriculum and instructional objectives, as well as student performance goals, are being met.
  • Lead the faculty development and supervision process, fostering a spirit of continuous improvement and student-centered practices.

Skills

  • Qualification in Educational Leadership.
  • Six years of experience in education, including three years of teaching experience or a valid educational leadership license.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative and reflective mindset.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a contribution to fostering a positive, inclusive school culture.
  • Oversight of the daily operations of the Secondary School, ensuring effective management of facilities, staff, resources, and budget to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • The ability to cultivate a sense of shared purpose and collaborative pursuit of consensus goals regarding decision-making.
  • Effective communication skills with students, faculty, staff, parents, colleagues, and the community (including verbal, nonverbal, and written communication) in a friendly and approachable manner.
  • A commitment to creating an efficient, productive, and supportive environment where all students and faculty are recognized for their best efforts.
  • The ability to develop the leadership skills of teachers and share leadership responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Direct collaboration with the Head of School in the recruitment, training, and retention of high-quality faculty.
  • A personal dedication to ongoing professional learning and growth, embodying the principles of lifelong learning.
