About This Role

ICS Milan is a dynamic international school that offers a thorough and challenging curriculum through various educational programs, including IGCSE, MYP, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP). We are looking for a committed and experienced Head of Mathematics with a solid background in the IB DP curriculum. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is enthusiastic about teaching and flourishes in a multicultural, collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach high school Mathematics courses as part of the IB Diploma Programme (IB DP), covering both Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL), while ensuring lessons are engaging, rigorously designed, and appropriately challenging;

• Instruct IGCSE and/or MYP classes depending on qualifications and experience;

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the IB DP curriculum, promoting critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and inquiry-based learning;

• Assess student progress through both formative and summative evaluations, offering timely and constructive feedback to aid their academic growth;

• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that caters to the diverse learning requirements of students through differentiated teaching strategies;

• Encourage a growth mindset and inspire students' passion for mathematics, equipping them with essential skills for their academic and future careers;

• Lead the Mathematics department and collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the school to share best practices and resources.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related area is essential; a Master's degree or additional qualifications are advantageous.

• A valid teaching certification is required, with a preference for candidates who hold an IB DP Mathematics teaching qualification or relevant experience.

• Proven experience teaching IB DP Mathematics (both Higher Level and Standard Level) or equivalent experience in an international education setting.

• Knowledge of IGCSE and MYP curricula is beneficial.

• A solid understanding of inquiry-based learning principles and assessment practices within the IB framework.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
