Awsaj Academy is a specialized institution currently catering to over 700 students from Pre-3 to Grade 12 who have diverse learning requirements and challenges. The majority of our students have mild to moderate learning needs, while some present more complex challenges due to specific medical diagnoses. As the only school of its kind in Qatar, Awsaj Academy stands out as a regional pioneer in education for students with disabilities.

We provide a comprehensive curriculum that emphasizes high-quality academic, social, emotional, and research-based programs, all tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of our students. Our multi-tiered support systems guarantee that students receive the essential behavioral, therapeutic, and academic interventions necessary for their success in further studies, higher education, employment, and community engagement.

Awsaj Academy holds accreditation from international organizations and offers a High School diploma that aligns with American educational standards. For those students for whom this pathway is not suitable, we have developed a specific special needs pathway.

Instruction is conducted in English across most subjects, except for Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Qatar History, which are taught in Arabic. More than 98% of our students are Qatari and are English Language Learners. Our classes are co-educational, emphasizing dual-language strategies.

Located in the vibrant and innovative Education City of Qatar Foundation, Awsaj Academy features outstanding teaching and learning facilities.

Our students exhibit a variety of learning challenges, necessitating a dynamic, flexible, and responsive educational environment. Each grade-level classroom maintains a teacher-student ratio of around 1:10 and is supported by specialized resource bases such as Empower and Nurture, with assistance from teachers, instructional aides, and intervention specialists.

We are supported by a robust multidisciplinary team that includes therapists, psychologists, and specialists, alongside additional staff members such as education counselors, a school nurse, and behavior specialists. Our dedicated Arabic and Islamic Studies team provides assistance to students across the learning spectrum.

Awsaj Academy operates within Qatar Foundation (QF), established in 1995 by decree of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar. Role Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic High School English Teacher to join our committed team. In this position, you will inspire and assist students in developing advanced English language skills, encompassing reading, writing, speaking, and listening. You will engage with students who have varying learning needs, adjusting your teaching strategies to ensure each student achieves success while nurturing a love for literature and communication.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement engaging, differentiated English lessons focused on advanced reading, writing, critical thinking, and communication abilities.
- Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.
- Employ a range of instructional strategies to accommodate the diverse learning needs of students, including those with special educational needs.
- Regularly assess student progress through both formative and summative assessments, offering constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.
- Aid students in developing proficient academic writing skills, preparing them for success in examinations and future academic pursuits.
- Cultivate a classroom culture that values respect, collaboration, and critical inquiry, encouraging students to interact with diverse texts and concepts.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to promote the holistic development of each student.
- Provide guidance and support to students in developing social and emotional skills alongside their academic achievements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license/equivalency with a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience teaching high school English, preferably with students who have special educational needs.
- Strong capability to differentiate instruction to cater to a variety of learning needs and abilities.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for literature and language, and a dedication to fostering students' academic development.
