GEMS International School, Al Khail is currently accepting applications for the position of Drama Teacher, with roles commencing in August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that spark curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
- Foster a warm, inclusive classroom environment that embraces diverse strengths and learning styles.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of all students, including EAL learners, gifted individuals, and those requiring additional support.
- Utilize technology and innovative strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Assess, document, and communicate student progress effectively, using data to inform instruction and provide tailored support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine IB-aligned curriculum plans, resources, and assessments.
- Engage in the wider school community through extracurricular activities, events, and initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with parents and the broader school community to support student growth and well-being.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and self-reflection to enhance teaching practices.
- Exemplify the GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile in all aspects of school life.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognized professional teaching qualification at the degree level, such as a B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent in Drama.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant and verifiable experience teaching Secondary Drama, preferably in an IB Curriculum environment (though this is not a requirement).
- Experience with MYP and DP is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A passion for inspiring young learners through innovative, inquiry-driven teaching approaches.
- The vision, energy, commitment, and educational philosophy necessary to contribute to the ongoing success of a prestigious GEMS school with a diverse international student body.
