THE ROLE
Our Science department has significantly enhanced student outcomes and successfully instilled a passion for learning at GEMS World Academy. This success is attributed to the commitment of our staff, their exceptional expertise, and the department's innovative approach to data and curriculum development. The Physics department is particularly esteemed by our students for the personalized support and care it provides.
We are currently looking for a dynamic DP Physics Teacher to join our accomplished team.
SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have a proven history of effective teaching and a track record of helping students achieve success. While experience with the IB Middle Years and Diploma programmes is preferred, outstanding educators from various curricular backgrounds are encouraged to apply. A strong alignment with the IB philosophy and a commitment to the values of the Learner Profile are essential. A sincere enthusiasm for working within a non-selective and culturally diverse community is also a key requirement. Additionally, the candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree coupled with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent specialization in Physics.
- Advanced qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.
- At least 3 years of experience teaching Upper High School/Secondary Physics, ideally within an IB curriculum school, though this is not a requirement.
- A solid understanding of the IB DP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred.
- A strong desire to continually enhance their teaching practice and deliver exceptional learning experiences for students.
- The experience, character, and educational philosophy that align with a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy.
- Availability starting August 2025.
