Job Title: Computer Teacher
Reports to: Principal
Position Type: Full-Time
The Computer Teacher will be responsible for creating interactive and comprehensive lessons for students from Kindergarten through Grade 11 in the field of Computer Technology. This position includes teaching essential computer skills and various technological subjects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate student performance via class activities and assessments, providing constructive feedback.
- Develop lesson plans suited to the students' age and skill levels.
- Assign special projects that foster student creativity and learning.
- Update parents on student progress, particularly for those who may need extra support or tutoring.
- Supply appropriate resources and educational materials for students.
- Manage the computer lab and oversee the inventory of supplies.
- Ensure all computer equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
- Keep detailed records of student progress and achievements.
- Uphold classroom discipline and address behavioral issues according to school policy.
- Arrange the classroom with necessary supplies to support learning.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in computer technology relevant to the curriculum.
- Ensure the classroom is equipped with up-to-date hardware and software.
- Supervise internet usage within the classroom to ensure it is educationally appropriate.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of computer science and effective pedagogical methods for teaching students from elementary to high school.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated capacity to engage with a diverse student population.
Education and Experience:
A degree in a relevant field from an accredited university, a Manitoba teaching certificate, and a minimum of three to five years of teaching experience in computer technology.
