We are in search of an outstanding Ministry of Education Certified Kindergarten teacher to collaborate with a team of educators in our Senior Kindergarten program. You will join a dedicated teaching team that supports the positive growth and development of young girls at the Crofton House School Early Childhood Education Centre’s two-year Kindergarten program. Responsibilities:
● Work with a dynamic team of teachers and early childhood educators to co-create and deliver a high-quality Senior Kindergarten curriculum.
● Collaborate closely with a fellow teacher to plan all elements of the SK program.
● Foster an environment that addresses the social and emotional needs of young girls.
● Emphasize play as a central element of learning, integrating it across all teaching activities.
● Design and execute engaging, interactive lessons focused on a student-centered, inquiry-based learning approach.
● Plan outdoor learning experiences that leverage Crofton House School’s 10-acre campus to enhance physical and cognitive development.
● Employ thoughtful documentation and assessment methods to reflect on student learning and progress, including utilizing SeeSaw to track and communicate achievements.
● Provide tailored instruction and learning support for individual students, collaborating with the Learning Resource team as needed.
● Build strong relationships with parents through daily interactions, term reports, and regular in-person meetings.
● Contribute to the broader Junior School community by engaging in co-curricular programming.
● Actively participate in professional development opportunities, including joining a Professional Learning Community, collaborating with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and student outcomes, and engaging in school-wide learning efforts.
● Draw inspiration from educational research, including Costa and Kallick's Habits of Mind, Harvard Project Zero’s Making Thinking Visible, and Debora Macnamara’s Rest, Play, Grow, to enrich your teaching practice.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:
● B.C. Ministry of Education Teaching Certification (required).
● Early Childhood Educator or Education Assistant Certificate (preferred).
● A thorough understanding of play-based learning and its significance in child development.
● Experience utilizing outdoor environments for impactful learning.
● Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
● Creativity, flexibility, and patience in nurturing young learners.
● Strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering safe, caring environments for children.
● Familiarity with the distinct learning styles of girls and the ability to innovate to meet their needs.
● Energy, dedication, and willingness to engage in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
