Az-Zahraa Islamic Academy is on the lookout for a Physical Education Teacher. The Az-Zahraa Islamic Academy (AZIA) is a private institution catering to students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 7, rooted in the principles and values of the Islamic faith. We invite applications from compassionate individuals who are attuned to the needs of children and are eager to join a dynamic team. The necessary qualifications include:
• BC Professional Teacher Certification from the BC Teacher Regulation Office
• Essential knowledge of pedagogy, including instructional strategies, literacy/numeracy teaching theory, and child development
• Familiarity with current curriculum trends, particularly in early reading and numeracy
• Enthusiasm for engaging in extracurricular activities
• A collaborative spirit to work effectively with a vibrant and enthusiastic team
• Experience with ESL or struggling students is advantageous
• A background in Islam is beneficial.
