About This Role

Doha Academy, accredited by QNSA (Qatar National Schools Accreditation) and NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges), is dedicated to the growth and welfare of both students and staff. As one of Qatar's oldest and most esteemed schools, we are proud to serve over 2000 students aged 3 to 18, representing more than 40 nationalities.

We are in search of an outstanding Assistant Head of School responsible for inclusion, to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) division at Doha International Kindergarten. This position has been established due to the school's expansion. Ideal candidates will have a robust background in inclusion, ideally having experience in a SENCo role or a similar capacity.

At Doha Academy, our vision and mission focus on delivering an exceptional, accessible, and inclusive education. Many of our students are English language learners, thus, the ability to assist students in language acquisition will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities for the successful applicant include:

- Advocate for the School's vision and mission throughout the School community.
- Partner with the Head of School to effectively lead and manage the EYFS team.
- Aid in the daily operations of the School, which includes covering classes and specific administrative tasks.
- Offer guidance and support to EYFS staff in the execution of inclusive practices.
- Contribute to the development and execution of policies and procedures concerning inclusion within the EYFS environment.
- Facilitate the ongoing professional development of EYFS staff in inclusion and diversity topics.
- Monitor the progress of all children in the EYFS setting, particularly those with additional needs.
- Utilize assessment data to pinpoint gaps or areas for enhancement in provision and practice.
- Collaborate with staff to implement targeted interventions and support strategies as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with all stakeholders and external agencies.

Preferred qualifications:

- In-depth understanding of inclusion principles and exemplary practices in early years education.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and motivating others.
- Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- A dedication to continuous professional development and a reflective approach to practice.
- A passionate, enthusiastic, and inspiring teacher with experience in delivering the EYFS British curriculum.

This full-time position offers a permanent contract, with a start date in August 2024.
