After School Playworker

About the Role: After School Club Playworker

Swain House Primary School is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and proactive After School Playworker to join our wraparound
care team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing a high-quality, welcoming, and safe environment for children at the
end of the school day. This is a wonderful opportunity to facilitate a positive space where children can successfully transition
from structured learning to active, child-led play. You will be responsible for implementing a rich variety of engaging activities—
ranging from arts and crafts to outdoor games—while actively encouraging positive social interaction, independence, and
teamwork among pupils.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Enjoys working with children and is passionate about supporting their development
• Is enthusiastic, caring and able to build positive relationships with children and families
• Has good communication and teamwork skills
• Can use their initiative and remain calm and organised
• Has an understanding of safeguarding responsibilities (training will be provided)

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities
• Create a fun, inclusive and welcoming environment for all pupils
• Support children's social, emotional and physical development through play
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times
• Assist with the preparation and serving of healthy snacks
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers
• Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety requirements
