About This Role

Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Design and Technology Teacher to join the team at Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi, commencing in the academic year 2025-26.

Founded in 2009, Muna British Academy has established a strong reputation for excellence, consistently receiving an "Outstanding" rating from ADEK since 2015. In August 2025, the academy will move to a state-of-the-art campus in the prestigious Saadiyat Lagoons community. This new facility will enhance our educational offerings, initially serving students from FS1 to Year 7, with plans to expand through Year 13 in the future, all within a modern environment that supports our mission to deliver exceptional education.

• Primary responsibilities include:

• Collaborating effectively as part of a team.

• Working collaboratively with peers and adapting to various working arrangements.

• Engaging with parents to ensure the well-being and academic success of all students.

• Collaborating with curriculum support staff (as needed) to promote children’s development.

Teaching and Learning:

• Exhibiting a thorough understanding of the curriculum.

• Organizing classroom resources and displays to create an engaging and positive learning environment.

• Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that cater to a diverse range of abilities within the class.

• Motivating students through innovative and dynamic teaching methods.

• Observing and assessing students in accordance with school standards.

• Reflecting on classroom practices, lessons delivered, and progress made, making necessary adjustments to the environment, planning, and curriculum.

• Collaborating with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when required.

• Integrating the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.

Assessment and Data:

• Taking responsibility for the academic progress of a class.

• Meeting standards for assessing and recording student development using Target Tracker.

• Utilizing assessment data to inform further planning, provisions, and interventions.

• Providing feedback to parents and caregivers regarding student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behavior Management and Duties:

• Complying with the school's behavior policy.

• Effectively managing classes using strategies tailored to students’ needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge them.

• Maintaining positive relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority, and responding decisively when necessary in accordance with school behavior policies.

• Acting as a positive role model and consistently demonstrating the expected attitudes, values, and behaviors.

• Upholding high expectations for behavior, fostering self-control and independence among all learners.

• Carrying out duties as assigned within the school's policy framework.

Wider Professional Responsibilities:

• Contributing to a curriculum action group, assisting in planning, assessment, resources, and special events related to that team.

• Supporting and participating in school events, outings, and activities, which may be scheduled on weekends or evenings.

• Effectively communicating with parents and caregivers about students' achievements and well-being through school systems such as CPOMS as appropriate.

• Making a positive contribution to the overall ethos and life of the school.

• Leading a weekly extracurricular activity each term.

• A Bachelor's Degree in a related field with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

• A minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience.

• Prior experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.

• A passion for teaching and a commitment to the holistic education of children.

• A high level of professionalism and consideration for children's well-being.

• Recent and active involvement in extracurricular activities.

• Respect for all members of the school community, regardless of position, gender, age, or ethnic background.

• A positive, solution-oriented approach to professional life.

• A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police clearance.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
