Taylor's International School KL (TIS KL) is seeking a qualified and experienced Assistant Head with a focus on Digital Literacy as well as Teaching and Learning for our Secondary School.
Located in the heart of the city, TISKL delivers high-quality education through the English national curriculum, incorporating the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and IGCSE courses. With an enrollment of approximately 1500 students representing over 40 different nationalities, our institution boasts a dedicated local faculty and around 10% expatriate teachers. About the position
The Assistant Headteacher responsible for Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, and Digital Literacy will manage all curriculum-related aspects within TISKL Secondary. This role is integral in ensuring that teaching remains inspiring, current, challenging, and cohesive. Additionally, the position encompasses overseeing the Continuous Professional Development and training of staff, both internally and through external opportunities, whether in groups or individually. We seek an expert in digital learning and literacy transformation, capable of creating effective programs that enhance student experiences and the integration of technology and Computer Science.
This is a senior leadership position within the Secondary school.
Digital literacy responsibilities include:
•
Possessing up-to-date knowledge and experience utilizing AI as a teaching and learning resource in educational settings.
•
Being informed about the implementation of digital tools in classrooms and for educational purposes.
•
Having experience in establishing and leading digital education initiatives for students, including coding, entrepreneurship, problem-solving, and robotics.
•
Training staff to build a core team dedicated to advancing digital literacy throughout the school.
•
Collaborating with the primary tech lead to create comprehensive school-wide programs and projects.
•
Engaging with digital leaders across the Taylor’s Schools network to develop collaborative projects, competitions, and opportunities for both staff and students.
•
Maintaining a strong awareness of the risks associated with technology use among teenagers and developing programs to assist young learners in safely navigating the online landscape. This aligns closely with the school’s Care for Self and Care for Others initiatives.
Teaching and Learning responsibilities include:
•
Coordinating the CPD program across the Secondary school and collaborating with the Primary school on Whole School initiatives.
•
Ensuring staff have access to relevant external courses and conferences as appropriate.
•
Leading CPD sessions focusing on pertinent aspects of digital literacy and teaching and learning for staff.
•
Managing learning walks and the school's performance management system.
•
Regularly publishing curriculum information for the parent community.
•
Conducting parent workshops on the school’s curriculum and pedagogical approaches.
•
Championing and implementing the school’s pedagogical framework.
•
Leading the team of Lead Teachers to ensure ongoing training and enhancement of teaching quality within the school.
•
Facilitating the induction process for new staff concerning all aspects of teaching, learning, and curriculum.

Please note that applicants should possess a recognized teaching qualification alongside a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience. International experience is highly preferred.
