We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Drama teacher to join our esteemed secondary department.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching across various age groups and abilities, specifically at the GCSE and A-Level stages, with a proven record of achieving excellent results.

This position is being offered as part of our strategic expansion to accommodate rising student enrollment and demand for our programs.

General Professional Responsibilities

The role of a teacher encompasses the following professional duties:


Delivering lessons, including planning and preparing courses, assigning and grading work, and assessing and reporting on student development, progress, and achievement in alignment with the school’s expectations and policies.


Utilizing data to enhance classroom instruction, monitoring student progress, and implementing timely interventions as needed.


Preparing students for public examinations, evaluating students for these assessments, documenting results, and attending relevant meetings regarding the administration of public examinations.


Engaging with parents through communication and consultation, including composing reports.


Participating in Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.


Maintaining discipline and order among students in the classroom.


Attending departmental meetings and Open Evenings.


Collaborating with team members to shape departmental policies and practices, introduce curricular initiatives, and develop teaching and assessment methods.


Assisting with administrative and organizational tasks to ensure the department operates smoothly.


Staying updated with curriculum innovations, participating in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and contributing to personal professional growth.


Working in tandem with support teachers in the classroom.


Taking responsibility for mentoring a beginning teacher, if applicable.


Preparing assignments for classes when absences are known in advance and providing work for absent colleagues as necessary.


Overseeing a specific area of the curriculum, administration, innovation, or project.


Completing additional tasks as reasonably directed by the Head of Department.


Acquainting oneself with the DSIB inspection framework and the expectations for outstanding teaching and learning within the UAE.


Supporting UAE initiatives and cultural norms.

Candidate Profile

We require that the successful applicant:


Possesses relevant qualifications.


Has experience teaching in British Curriculum schools, specifically in IGCSE and A-Level.


Is passionate about Drama and able to inspire students with this enthusiasm.


Understands assessment and examination requirements for KS3, KS4, and KS5.


Demonstrates exceptional teaching skills and a proven track record of student progress.


Collaborates effectively within a team environment.


Keeps abreast of developments in their subject area.


Shows a commitment to professional growth, seeking training opportunities within and outside the department to advance their career.

Safa Community School salary scale. Housing, medical insurance, free child place, visa, flight and generous salary packages. Salary dependent on experience.
