Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Physical Education Teacher (Rugby Specialist) to join our Prep or Senior School team, instructing students from Years 9 to 13. The successful candidate may also assume the role of Form Tutor.

This position presents an exciting chance to create a high-quality PE program, instill a passion for sport and fitness, and enrich the broader school community. Leadership opportunities may be available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning
• Design and deliver engaging, high-quality PE lessons tailored to meet the needs of all students.
• Cultivate a culture of high expectations and motivate students to reach their full potential.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum and develop schemes of work.
• Provide academic and physical support to students, including preparation for assessments as needed.
• Establish challenging learning and developmental objectives utilizing diverse strategies, resources, and technologies.
• Offer consistent feedback and encourage students to act upon it.

Pastoral and Wider School Life
• Fulfill pastoral and supervisory responsibilities as required.
• Participate in assemblies, departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and school events.
• Serve as a positive role model and uphold the school’s ethos and reputation.
• Lead or engage in extra-curricular activities, sports teams, and school events.

Curriculum Development
• Create high-quality, innovative, and inclusive PE activities.
• Assist in sourcing and managing teaching resources.
• Ensure continuity and progression throughout year groups.
• Analyze student performance data to facilitate exceptional progress.
• Regularly reflect on personal practice and participate in continuous professional development.

Person Specification
(Essential=E, Desirable= D)
• Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum or equivalent. (E)
• In-depth subject knowledge in Physical Education. (E)
• At least two years of relevant teaching experience. (E)
• A good degree from a recognized university. (E)
• PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent teaching qualification. (E)
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills. (E)
• Ability to inspire students and nurture a passion for sport and learning. (E)
• Willingness to engage in all aspects of school life. (E)
• Experience teaching students with English as an Additional Language (EAL). (D)
• Background in the independent school sector. (D)
• Emerging leadership qualities with potential for future roles. (D)
