About you:
We are looking to hire a remarkable School Counsellor for an August 2026 start.
Job Purpose:
The School Counsellor will collaborate closely with the wellbeing and leadership teams to design and implement a comprehensive counselling system for students within the assigned school or designated phases.
The ideal candidate will:
• Provide high-quality counselling support to students facing a variety of emotional challenges, ensuring equitable access.
• Offer guidance and advice to parents, caregivers, and the school community.
• Work with staff to ensure that students receive the necessary support.
• Contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and personal development of children and young people.
• Conduct case consultations with school personnel and parents.
• Educate teachers and parents on counselling-related topics.
• Create and deliver specialized guidance programs for students requiring additional support in social and emotional development.
• Provide therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs and refer to external services when necessary.
• Foster deep and meaningful connections with students, staff, and parents to facilitate positive outcomes.
Candidate specifications:
• The applicant should possess a degree in counselling, psychology, or psychotherapy, along with a minimum of four years of experience in a whole school counselling role, primarily with secondary experience.
• The candidate must be adept at addressing a variety of student needs across different school phases.
• The successful candidate will be proactive and capable of developing and implementing effective systems within the assigned school phases.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are essential.
