About This Role

HEAD OF FACULTY - ARABIC A & B

We are seeking a Head of Faculty - Arabic A & B for August 2026 at The English College, Dubai.

The English College is looking for a positive, reflective, and inspiring individual to lead the Arabic Faculty and Secondary School starting August 2026. The ideal candidate will possess a growth mindset and maintain high expectations for both staff and students. They should be eager to learn and engage in professional development, embracing the belief that improvement is always possible. We are in search of a dedicated professional who is passionate about fostering holistic growth in students—academically, emotionally, physically, and socially.

With a proud 33-year legacy, The English College is among the oldest educational institutions in Dubai. This independent, co-educational school offers a British curriculum from Early Years Foundation Stage through Year 13 and is centrally located off Sheikh Zayed Road. Our students, known as Curious Cubs in their early years and EC Lions as they progress, embark on a journey of exploration and growth, supported by committed staff who nurture talents, build confidence, and inspire aspirations. Our mission is clear: Learn. Thrive. Make a Difference. Education here transcends the classroom; it encompasses curiosity, creativity, resilience, and character. We prioritize well-being, as we believe that when students and teachers feel supported and happy, success follows naturally.

We offer exceptional resources and facilities. Our state-of-the-art STEAM centre, inaugurated in August 2025, features design technology labs, a graphics studio, a media suite, and a robotics studio. The Secondary Building includes two drama studios, a fitness suite, specialized art and music rooms, and science laboratories. Additionally, our Primary Building is equipped with specialized facilities for computing, art, science, and STEAM. We have established a reputation for academic excellence, placing the success of every student at the core of our mission. Our students are engaged, dedicated, and passionate about learning. Our staff comprises enthusiastic and outstanding educators committed to continuous professional development. We enjoy robust support from parents who actively participate in their children's learning and progress.

The successful candidate will be passionate, highly qualified, and committed, with a proven track record. Teaching positions at EC offer a thrilling and rewarding challenge, providing the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking institution recognized as Outstanding by BSO (2022) and Very Good by DSIB (2023). The candidate must demonstrate innovative teaching methods and the ability to inspire and motivate students with diverse talents and abilities. It is essential to possess the skills and vision to maintain high expectations for all students, utilizing data to tailor support and challenges appropriately. A willingness to teach Arabic up to A level is required, as well as the ability to teach other science subjects at KS3 and/or KS4.

We prioritize values and character in our hiring process. It is crucial that successful candidates resonate with our core purpose, vision, and values. We seek a dedicated team player with the drive, energy, and passion to help shape this progressive school. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to ensuring students reach their full potential as part of a collaborative team, actively support the pastoral care and well-being of our learners, and contribute to our vibrant extracurricular program. A significant role in safeguarding our students will also be required.

The English College truly feels like a family, with fantastic students and a motivated team of exceptional teachers and support staff, making it a wonderful environment for both learning and teaching. As part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), we are connected with a network of dedicated colleagues in financially responsible schools globally, all striving to be the preferred choice in their communities. Learning is central to everything we do for our students, colleagues, and parents, and we are committed to continuous enhancement.
