The “Intercultural Programme” at Collegio San Carlo caters to students from K to Year 13, offering five distinct streams in High School, including the IBDP.
The primary aim of this programme is to integrate a robust international bilingual curriculum with the framework set by the Italian Ministry of Education, providing 50% of the subjects in English within a well-aligned and cohesive structure. Each Intercultural class is co-facilitated by a collaborative team of English and Italian educators. The subjects that English teachers are responsible for include: English, Geography, Science, Creative Arts, and Digital Studies. Additionally, specialist teachers proficient in English also instruct PE and Music.
The following qualifications, experience, and skills are essential:
- A minimum of 3-4 years of teaching experience at the Lower Primary level
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education
- A relevant Teaching Qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
- Experience in teaching phonics and the Primary Cambridge International Curriculum or a similar program
- An understanding of collegiality as a fundamental educational value
- Strong teamwork abilities
- Proficiency in digital skills; being Apple Teacher trained is an advantage
- Native English speaker
- Knowledge of Italian is beneficial
- Applicants will only be considered if they possess an EU passport or valid work authorization for Italy.
