About This Role

Dukhan English School is a dynamic, cheerful, and energetic institution that holds high aspirations for both its students and staff. Situated in a kind and welcoming community, our school truly values diversity. Established in the early 1950s, DES operates as a not-for-profit entity owned by QatarEnergy.

Our school caters to the Dukhan township, which is home to over 40 nationalities, with around 1100 students enrolled. Our newly constructed campus spans 27 acres and features cutting-edge learning facilities, including an 800-seat auditorium, a 1500-person assembly hall, three sports halls, advanced science laboratories, music rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, and an all-weather pitch.

We are in search of an inspiring leader with a minimum of 4 years’ experience who possesses the enthusiasm and expertise to advance the Expressive Arts Faculty.

In this role, you will:

- Guide colleagues in enhancing pedagogical practices and delivering 'quality first teaching', while providing feedback and supporting professional development.
- Foster a collaborative culture within the department and across the school.
- Strategically oversee the curriculum development, ensuring that changes significantly enhance students' knowledge, skills, and conceptual understanding.
- Bring experience with a concept-based curriculum.

Additionally, we are looking for an exceptional practitioner who:

- Has relevant teaching experience up to KS5/A Level (Music/Art).
- Is a reflective practitioner dedicated to ongoing professional growth and development.
- Is knowledgeable about current research and has experience applying evidence-based teaching methods to challenge and engage all learners.
- Holds a strong understanding of strategies to support EAL students.
- Is committed to offering extra-curricular activities and learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
