About This Role

Job Summary
We are in search of a skilled and passionate Subject Teacher who possesses significant experience in private or international education settings. The selected candidate will be tasked with delivering exceptional instruction, nurturing student growth, and enhancing the school’s overall academic standards.

The preferred applicant should have previous teaching experience in an international or private school, possess a PGCE, QTS, or a U.S. teaching certificate, and show proficiency in their subject area. Familiarity with international curricula such as AL, AP, and IGCSE is highly desirable.

Locations Available: Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chengdu

Key Responsibilities
Planning, Teaching, and Class Management
1. Develop and conduct up to 25 lessons each week. If teaching hours fall short, the school may assign additional relevant duties based on needs. Teachers are expected to accept these arrangements with professionalism and cooperation.
2. Provide lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, classroom observation records, and any other necessary teaching documentation.
3. Uphold positive student behavior and discipline in the classroom while liaising with the Senior Leadership Team when required.
4. Strive to improve teaching quality and uphold high academic standards.
5. Attend regular academic and school meetings.
6. Complete any assigned evening duties as necessary.

Tracking, Assessment, Recording, and Reporting
1. Evaluate, monitor, and track student performance and progress, offering constructive feedback and advice.
2. Assign, prepare, and grade homework, quizzes, and other assessments.
3. Prepare and evaluate examinations, analyze the outcomes, and create performance reports.
4. Engage in academic research and departmental meetings.
5. Foster positive communication with parents to update them on student progress.

Activities
1. Organize and plan student activities, including open classes, festive events, and campus decorations.
2. Work together with colleagues to co-host and support school events as needed.
3. Mentor and prepare students for participation in school-level, national, or international competitions.
4. Lead at least one extracurricular activity or club.
5. Assist with student admissions events and promotional activities.
6. Support the University Counseling Department (e.g., drafting recommendation letters, aiding in academic competitions, study tours, etc.).
7. Collaborate with the Pastoral Department to assist with House events, Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) programs, and other initiatives for student development.

Others
1. Perform related tasks as assigned by the Line Manager and Principal.

Required Qualifications & Experience
1. A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in the relevant subject area.
2. Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a related subject.
3. PGCE, QTS, or U.S. teaching certificate is mandatory.
4. Strong understanding of international curriculum frameworks.
5. Exceptional communication, leadership, and team-building abilities.
6. A genuine passion for student-centered education and innovative teaching practices.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
