Role Purpose:
The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver classroom instruction and educational principles following the Cambridge Mathematics curriculum, fostering student development through effective lesson planning, presentation, and management of classroom activities, alongside related assessments for IGCSE and A Level.

Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to craft high-quality lessons and learning schemes.
- Design engaging and interactive lessons that captivate students.
- Provide instructional guidance based on the relevant curriculum and subject-specific materials.
- Differentiate support for students according to their individual needs and varying abilities.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with students to promote high levels of learning.
- Share teaching practices with fellow educators and actively participate in a professional learning community aimed at enhancing overall learning quality.
- Maintain high expectations for all students, encouraging them to exceed their current limitations.
- Prepare the classroom by organizing and setting up necessary equipment for student learning.
- Monitor inventory levels and procure learning supplies as required.
- Assign, grade, and provide feedback on student projects, assignments, and exams.
- Record and report on student performance and progress.
- Encourage student involvement in maintaining classroom cleanliness.
- Perform duties in alignment with the Cambridge Teaching Standards.
- Attend faculty and relevant school meetings as required.
- Assist students during school hours and in after-school extracurricular activities.
- Provide educational support to students during school and after school as needed.
- Contribute to the HAIS monthly magazine, HAISLife.
- Engage in personal and professional development activities.
- Take on tasks assigned by the Principal, Vice Principal, or Learning Leads.
- Embody the values of Hoi An International School.

Pastoral / Student Well-being:
- Communicate with parents regarding academic and pastoral issues, including follow-ups on student reports, parent-teacher meetings, and school calendar events.
- Support the school’s pastoral and support systems aimed at enhancing student well-being.
- Create and implement sector-specific and school-wide pastoral programs and initiatives.
- Serve as a point of contact for students, providing pastoral care to those assigned to you and the larger school community.
- Develop and execute teaching strategies to effectively address the personal, social, and academic needs of students.
- Ensure an inclusive atmosphere for all students in the classroom and throughout the school.
- Cultivate positive relationships and attitudes toward all students and staff members across the school.
- Be mindful of your pastoral care approach and how it affects students, the school environment, colleagues, and the broader community.

Essential Criteria:
- A minimum of a university degree paired with a recognized teaching qualification.
- At least three (3) years of recent classroom teaching experience.
- Proven experience teaching at the Secondary level.
- Experience with Cambridge Education methodologies.
- Highly proficient in English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Ability to establish a high level of trust with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Willingness to actively engage in the school’s extracurricular initiatives.

Desirable

- Experience in an international school setting.
- Recent leadership experience in academic and pastoral contexts.
- Knowledge of teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Employment Requirements:
For international candidates, a mandatory employment requirement includes providing legalized and authenticated copies of identification, qualifications, experience, and probity documents as requested by HAIS and local/national governing bodies.
The selected candidate must meet probity requirements, which include appropriate reference checks, a national and local police check, and applicable Work with Children Checks.

Compensation

$2,500 - $3,000 per month (Work permit/Visa covered and sponsored Sick Leave/Public Holiday/School Holidays, etc)
