Floater Primary Teacher
About This Role
OUR SCHOOL
Collegio San Carlo is a distinguished independent Catholic school in Milan, proudly celebrating its 150th Anniversary in 2019. This position offers a unique opportunity to become part of an educational community deeply rooted in the city's heritage, harmonizing tradition and innovation across various educational pathways for a diverse student body of nearly 2000.
The "Intercultural Programme" at Collegio San Carlo serves students from Kindergarten to Year 13 and encompasses five distinct high school streams, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
The program's primary goal is to integrate a comprehensive international bilingual curriculum with the standards established by the Italian Ministry of Education, delivering 50% of subjects in English through a carefully structured and cohesive approach. Each Intercultural class utilizes a co-teaching model, featuring both English and Italian educators. English teachers are responsible for subjects such as English, Geography, Science, Creative Arts, and Digital Studies, while specialized fluent English-speaking instructors lead PE and Music classes.
The Floater teacher will be part of the Primary Team, providing support across all grades as needed, which may include ESL assistance, substitute teaching, special projects, and school trips (both day outings and extended journeys to the UK or within Italy).
