About This Role

Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Teacher of Computer Science (A-Level) to become part of Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the academy in achieving its overall vision and strategic goals while contributing to the targets outlined in the academy's improvement plan and self-evaluation form.
• Follow health and safety regulations in the workplace and adhere to academy policies concerning safe working practices and equal opportunities.
• Comply with the academy's Performance Management Policy by setting ambitious annual targets and taking on the role of performance management reviewer if requested by the Principal.
• Engage in annual training related to child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety, as well as any other training pertinent to academy improvement or performance management.
• Attend all staff briefings.
• Create an environment that promotes exceptional learning and teaching.
• Establish clear teaching objectives and outline instructional and assessment methods.
• Assign challenging tasks that keep students engaged.
• Set clear targets that build upon students’ prior achievements.
• Identify students with special educational needs or those who demonstrate exceptional abilities.
• Provide structured lesson plans that maintain momentum, motivation, and challenge.
• Utilize assessment methods effectively to ensure comprehensive coverage of study programs.
• Use performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated learning tailored to individual needs.
• Ensure effective teaching practices and make optimal use of available time.
• Maintain a positive learning environment in accordance with the academy’s procedures, promoting good practices surrounding punctuality, behavior, work standards, and homework.
• Implement a variety of teaching methods to:
• Align approaches with content, organize information, present key concepts, and use appropriate vocabulary.
• Employ effective questioning techniques, listen carefully to students, and address errors and misconceptions.
• Select appropriate learning resources and foster study skills through the library, ICT, and other educational technologies.
• Ensure students acquire and reinforce relevant knowledge, skills, and understanding of the subject.
• Critically assess personal teaching to enhance effectiveness.
• Monitor and evaluate students' work, setting targets for their progress.
• Systematically evaluate and document students’ progress, keeping records to track understanding and completion, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, informing planning, and recognizing students’ achievement levels.
• Conduct assessments as required by examination bodies and adhere to departmental and academy procedures.
• Prepare and deliver informative reports to parents.
• Participate in subject-specific activities or aspects of the academy's work, creating plans that set clear targets and success criteria for growth and/or maintenance.
• Contribute to the overall visioning activities of the academy.
• Strive to provide every child with the opportunity to reach their potential and maintain high expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective sharing and utilization of resources for the benefit of the academy, department, and students.
• Engage in the communal life of the academy by actively participating in meetings and management systems necessary for coordinating leadership and management efforts.
• Take part in marketing and outreach initiatives such as open houses, parent-teacher consultations, and events with partner academies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field with a teaching qualification.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching a specialist subject up to GCSE and A Level is preferred but not required.

Compensation

£35,000 - £55,000 (Tax-Free Equivalent)
