Teaching and Learning Coach

GEMS Schools in the UAE are seeking an exceptional Teaching and Learning Coach to become part of their team. In this role, you will hold a strategic and instructional leadership position aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, and reading throughout the school. You will support staff in achieving consistently excellent classroom practices, improving student outcomes, and ensuring alignment with GEMS Teaching and Learning policies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the Principal and Leadership Team in leading and managing the school, focusing on specified areas of school improvement.
• Continuously enhance the delivery of an outstanding educational experience at Metropole School.
• Fulfill teaching duties, as necessary, in accordance with the National Curriculum to promote effective teaching and learning across the school.
• Collaborate with school leadership to pinpoint strengths and areas for development within the institution.
• Offer individualized, classroom-centered training to teachers, showcasing research-driven instructional strategies and methodologies, with follow-up support as needed.
• Deliver professional development through Team Teaching, Lesson Modeling, and dedicated Professional Development sessions.
• Provide constructive feedback on essential documents, including the Self-Evaluation Framework (SEF), Lesson Plans, Schemes of Work, and resource allocation.

Teaching, Learning and Reading Excellence:
• Oversee classroom practices through learning walks, lesson observations, work reviews, and coaching discussions in accordance with GEMS Teaching & Learning policy.
• Assist teachers in designing high-quality lessons that include clear learning objectives, success criteria, differentiation, and effective assessment for learning.

Coaching, Professional Development and Capacity Building:
• Mentor and coach teachers and middle leaders to enhance instructional practices, classroom effectiveness, and student advancement.
• Create and implement targeted Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions that align with school priorities, Teaching and Learning Advisory Group (TLAG), and inspection frameworks (KHDA / MOE).

Monitoring Impact and Using Data:
• Assess the success of teaching, learning, and reading strategies by analyzing attainment, progress, and engagement data.
• Aid staff in utilizing assessment data to inform lesson planning, interventions, and subsequent learning steps.

Curriculum and Innovation:
• Support curriculum development to ensure coherence, progression, challenge, and adherence to National Curriculum standards.
• Encourage innovative and effective application of educational technology to improve teaching, learning, and reading results.

Leadership, Culture and Compliance:
• Positively contribute to the school culture, fostering teamwork and staff wellbeing.
• Assist in appraisal, performance management, and professional growth discussions as required.

Skills:
• Demonstrated record of exceptional classroom practice and instructional leadership.
• Strong grasp of effective pedagogy, literacy development, and assessment practices.
• Experience in coaching teachers and leading professional learning initiatives.
• Ability to inspire, challenge, and support staff in enhancing their practice.
• Previous experience in a GEMS school is preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical abilities.
