What you’ll do:

  • Create clear learning objectives and lesson structures that maintain a high pace, motivation, and challenge for all students
  • Establish a safe, purposeful, and welcoming environment where students feel secure and confident
  • Maintain high standards of student behavior through positive relationships and well-focused teaching
  • Mark and monitor students’ work and set targets for progress in line with the learning and teaching and assessment policies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for a tutor group, providing academic monitoring, guidance and pastoral welfare while liaising with parents and external agencies.

About you

We’re looking for a flexible teaching professional to join our DT/Art department. Experience in or a willingness to teach Food Technology is desirable, but not essential!

You will:

  • Be a qualified teacher possessing QTS with proven experience teaching across a range of ages and abilities.
  • demonstrate a clear passion for Art, Design & Technology and Food and a deep commitment to sharing this enthusiasm with young people.
  • have a detailed working knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements and the pedagogical skills to translate them into impactful, deep learning experiences.
  • Be personable and approachable professional, capable of building effective relationships with both students and colleagues across the trust.
  • Be proactive team member with a "can-do" approach and the agility to respond to the evolving needs of the school environment.
  • maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection legislation, implementing these policies with consistency and care.
  • Be committed to continuous professional development and are eager to take an active part in whole-school and Pathway-wide CPD programs.
