Job Overview: Founded in 2015, Anne Hill International provides international education for students aged 2-13 and is planning to expand its secondary school offerings in the near future. Our mission is to deliver accessible, high-quality educational experiences, while our vision emphasizes the development of well-rounded, globally conscious, lifelong learners.

Currently, we cater to approximately 350 students from 30 different countries, supported by a dedicated team of 30 educators with diverse backgrounds.

With the anticipated launch of our secondary school campus in August 2026, we will introduce a new program centered on the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) and Cambridge Lower Secondary, leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). We take pride in being members of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

Role Responsibilities

We are looking for a Teacher of Business Studies (Year 10) who has the professional capability to initiate and develop programs within a growing educational environment. Familiarity with IMYC and IGCSE is beneficial but not essential.

Additionally, the ability to teach a secondary humanities or social studies subject would be a plus.

All educators at our institution are expected to participate in the pastoral/homeroom curriculum and contribute to extracurricular activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Subject Teachers are responsible for the academic growth and pastoral care of their students, following the school’s Guiding Statements, curriculum, and policies.

1. Set ambitious expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge students.

• Foster a positive, secure, and engaging classroom environment that encourages students to take risks in their learning and develop confidence.

• Design lessons with specific objectives that encourage active participation, independence, collaboration, and interdisciplinary connections.

• Maintain high expectations through strong relationships and inclusive practices.

2. Promote continuous progress and outcomes for each student.

• Understand students’ needs to tailor learning experiences, utilizing curriculum sequencing and prior knowledge to support progress.

• Encourage student reflection, responsibility, and a diligent approach to independent study.

3. Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding.

• Create learning experiences that reinforce knowledge, spark interest, and challenge students.

• Continuously improve professional skills through ongoing development, applying this expertise in the classroom with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and the importance of scholarship.

4. Plan, prepare, and deliver compelling lessons.

• Develop and implement purposeful lessons that cater to diverse student needs, including clear objectives, constructive feedback, and evidence-based strategies that promote growth.

• Build strong relationships within the classroom and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive, student-centered approach that supports both learning and well-being.

5. Tailor teaching to accommodate students' strengths and needs.

• Collaborate with students to set clear, meaningful goals and adjust lessons to meet individual requirements using strategies such as differentiation, questioning, active learning, and technology.

• Implement assessment, feedback, and reflection to guide teaching, support progress, and cultivate an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and challenged.

6. Use assessment effectively and productively.

• Systematically evaluate student learning through various methods, providing clear feedback that facilitates improvement and advancement.

• Regularly utilize assessment data to inform teaching, guide planning, and ensure that every student reaches their full potential.

7. Maintain a high standard of provision.

• Communicate effectively with parents, providing clear feedback and guidance.

• Prepare and use resources tailored to student needs, engaging support staff in planning and instruction.

• Manage time efficiently and conduct academic reporting diligently through updates, reports, and meetings with parents to offer a comprehensive overview of student progress.

Qualifications and Experience

• A University/College degree in the relevant subject area is preferred.

• PGCE or equivalent qualifications required.

• A minimum of three years of relevant experience is desirable but not mandatory.

• A proven track record of supporting students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with additional needs (e.g., English as an Additional Language and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
