Se-Se-Wa-Hum School Special Education Teacher
Se-Se-Wa-Hum School, located in Big River First Nation, is seeking a passionate and motivated Special Education Teacher to join their team for the 2026-2027 school year.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Developing and implementing lesson plans that encompass a variety of subjects.
• Evaluating and grading students’ comprehension and performance in the coursework.
• Engaging in conversations with students and parents about educational issues.
• Cultivating a welcoming, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes student achievement.
• Creating lesson plans and teaching strategies that adhere to school guidelines.
• Conducting assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas for growth.
• Establishing an engaging learning space tailored to the specific needs of each student.
• Developing and employing lesson plans and instructional materials through a variety of activities, including quizzes, competitions, and group discussions.
• Supervising and managing classroom behavior and activities.
Requirements:
• Strong scheduling skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate.
• Proficient classroom management abilities.
• Ability to teach students with a range of learning needs.
• Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Curriculum.
• Cross-Cultural experience is a plus.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Must be able to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Must be able to provide proof of prior teaching experience (if applicable).
