About This Role

Socrates Educa International School, located in Salou, south of Barcelona, has the capacity to serve up to 800 students. This inclusive institution delivers a well-rounded education for children aged 1 to 18+. Position Available

We are currently looking for a Secondary teacher who has experience with both national and International Baccalaureate programs for the forthcoming academic year, starting in September 2026.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidates will be collaborative, innovative, and creative team players, adept at differentiating instruction to engage all students, and enthusiastic about making Science engaging. A background in international education is essential, while IB experience is regarded as an asset. This position also includes tutoring responsibilities. Familiarity with the Catalan and/or Spanish curriculum is a plus.

Requirements for all applicants:

  • Proficiency in English, with the capability to teach entirely in authentic English.
  • A dedicated teacher of Physics, Chemistry, or Biology who can inspire students with varying abilities. Experience with IB and the ability to teach an additional subject are preferred.
  • Competence in ICT, including experience with Mac/iPad and educational applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Secondary QTS (BEd / SCITT / School Direct / Teach First) or equivalent.

Preferable:

  • Experience as a Secondary teacher for IB and Bachillerato / ESO, catering to ages 12-18.
  • IB trained and experienced or willing to pursue training.

Highly beneficial:

  • Familiarity with UCAS / D of E.
  • Understanding of the Spanish ESO / Bachillerato curriculum.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and Catalan.

Compensation
