Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and deliver compelling lessons, materials, and content that align with the Saulteaux Curriculum for Yellow Quill First Nation.
· Employ a variety of instructional methods (including digital, visual, and experiential learning) to accommodate different learning preferences.
· Create a safe, enriching, and stimulating atmosphere where students can thrive and feel supported.
· Conduct initial assessments and follow up with both formal and informal evaluations to track student progress.
· Evaluate student performance and prepare reports for parents and colleagues.
· Assess student assignments, tests, and evaluations, offering constructive feedback and emphasizing strengths to foster development.
· Maintain open communication with students, fellow educators, stakeholders, and parents/caregivers.
· Implement behavior management strategies, track student behavior, and monitor progress.
· Stay updated on relevant policies and standards, including child protection and safety protocols.
· Engage in continuous professional development and collaborate with colleagues to improve educational practices.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
· Valid Professional “A” Teaching Certificate.
· A strong understanding of Saulteaux Culture is preferred; a willingness to learn is also valued.
· Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
· A commitment to innovative and adaptive teaching methods that cater to diverse student needs.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team and engage with the community.
