The Position: Head of Food Science
Starting in September 2026, we are in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Head of Food Science to become a part of our team. This role presents a unique chance to positively influence students by fostering their creativity and practical abilities in the realm of food technology. As the Head of Department, you will motivate and guide students as they delve into nutrition, culinary arts, and food science, equipping them with a solid foundation for future endeavors in the food industry.

In your role as Head of Food Science, you will be tasked with delivering captivating and hands-on lessons that inspire students to investigate the principles of food preparation, nutrition, and sustainability. You will support students in navigating the GCSE Food Technology curriculum, aiding them in acquiring the necessary skills for academic achievement and careers in food-related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct engaging and innovative lessons in Food Technology, encompassing food science, nutrition, and culinary techniques.
- Assist students in enhancing their understanding of sustainable food practices, food production, and health and safety regulations.
- Cultivate a dynamic and creative learning atmosphere that encourages students to experiment and innovate in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to create a comprehensive and cohesive curriculum that aligns with the school’s values and educational objectives.
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff, providing regular updates on student progress and accomplishments.
- Engage in extracurricular activities related to food technology, such as cooking clubs or food-focused events.
