About This Role
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
RIS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Upper Elementary Teacher (Grade 5) who will inspire, engage, and promote student learning. The ideal applicant should have a solid grasp of upper elementary student development, subject matter expertise, and effective methods in inquiry-based learning, differentiation, and student assessment. Experience in collaborative curriculum planning and proficiency in unit development through backward design is crucial. The chosen candidate will collaborate closely with department colleagues, school administrators, and the curriculum coordinator to ensure that teaching strategies meet the diverse needs of all students.

NECESSARY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
•Strong communication skills with students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders
•Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
•Willingness to actively participate in our collaborative initiatives
•Expertise in developing and implementing effective academic programs
•Engaged in current and relevant professional development in teaching and learning
•Experienced in utilizing technology tools for upper elementary education
•Familiarity with Google Suite
•Knowledge of standards-based assessment, grading, and reporting practices
•Open to working in a multicultural setting
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
•A valid elementary school license or certification for teaching upper elementary; a Master’s degree in a related field is preferred
•Minimum of two years of experience as an upper elementary teacher in an accredited elementary school
