About This Role

Are you an imaginative teacher with a passion for visual expression? Do you believe every student has a creative voice waiting to be discovered?

As a Teacher of Art at Pinner High, you’ll deliver engaging lessons in drawing, painting, mixed media, and digital art, while fostering confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking in young artists.

You will plan and deliver inspiring Art lessons across KS3-KS5, encourage creativity, independence, and artistic exploration, working with our technician exhibit students’ work and celebrate artistic achievement, contribute to an energetic, supportive department and promote a love of art that extends beyond the classroom.

The successful candidate will have QTS (ideally 2-3 years), a passion for visual arts and creative education, strong classroom presence and positive behaviour management and importantly a commitment to inclusive, student-centred learning.

At Pinner High School, our pedagogical approach is based on the principles of Rosenshine. All our lessons begin with a do now activity, aimed at recalling knowledge. In addition, a high proportion of students are categorised as higher ability, we therefore expect appropriate challenge in learning. Learning episodes contain challenge tasks in addition to main activities which support the progression of all students. Students often use green pens to self assess work and teachers use expert subject knowledge for assessment for learning.
