About This Role

Key Responsibilities encompass the following:

Uphold and promote the principles and high standards outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
Deliver the designated curriculum while showcasing current and accurate knowledge of both curriculum content and subject matter.
Design and execute engaging lessons that inspire students, utilizing suitable materials and classroom environments to address various learning styles.
Provide written documentation of lesson planning and preparation upon request. Maintain organized records of curriculum and yearly plans, attendance, teaching materials, assessment strategies, and more.
Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct consistently.
Instruct students based on their individual requirements, employing effective teaching methods that accommodate diverse student needs and abilities, including late entrants, ESL learners, students with lower academic performance, and those who are gifted and talented.
Assign and grade student work. Assess, document, and report on students’ academic growth, progress, and achievements, using these evaluations to tailor the curriculum to meet individual student needs.
Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing media and technology within the classroom setting.
Support the overall development and well-being of students, offering guidance on educational issues.
Engage with external stakeholders, such as Ministry of Education officials, when necessary.
Take part in appraisal and Performance Management processes, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.
Collaborate with colleagues in the creation and refinement of teaching resources, course outlines, and pastoral care arrangements.
Participate in, and lead when appropriate, the school’s co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, fostering positive working relationships through proactive leadership and the exchange of ideas, materials, and experiences.
Oversee and manage student behavior, ensuring it is safe and appropriate. Develop and implement strategies to encourage self-discipline and address disruptive behavior.
Exemplify and promote cultural awareness and understanding while fostering a passion for learning.
Assist in planning and organizing school events and activities, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and award ceremonies.
Maintain regular communication with parents, advocating for the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep them updated on their children’s progress while safeguarding the confidentiality of student information.
Demonstrate commitment by putting forth effort and energy beyond regular working hours when necessary.
Attend staff meetings and participate on committees as required.
Carry out additional tasks as assigned by direct and dotted line managers/supervisors.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
*Estimated range based on regional data averages.
