About This Role
Description of Position:
As our school expands, we are eager to welcome a dynamic, enthusiastic, and driven MYP Mathematics and Sciences teacher for a full-time role. Working alongside the MYP coordinator, you will play a crucial role in developing the curriculum and crafting engaging units for these subjects that inspire our learners.
The ideal candidate will:
• Hold relevant teaching credentials and have demonstrated teaching experience within an IB MYP environment.
• Possess familiarity with teaching MYP Mathematics and MYP Sciences.
• Have a solid understanding of educational theories and the IB pedagogical framework.
• Exhibit excellent collaborative and interpersonal abilities.
• Embrace an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning.
• Have experience integrating technology into inquiry-driven learning.
• Thrive in an internationally oriented teaching environment.
• Be a native-level English speaker.
• Preferably possess an IB training certificate in MYP Mathematics and/or MYP Sciences (though this is not mandatory).
• Have experience teaching IB DP Mathematics (preferred but not required).
Responsibilities:
In addition to meeting full-time teaching obligations (maximum of 23 contact hours), your duties will include:
• Recording the inquiry, action, and reflection phases of each unit on Toddle.
• Keeping subject overviews updated for the subjects you teach.
• Actively engaging in a weekly collaborative planning meeting with the MYP coordinator.
• Participating in horizontal/vertical weekly planning sessions with MYP colleagues.
• Carrying out duty care responsibilities as per the school's duty schedule.
• Leading one extracurricular club each term.
