About This Role

Teacher of English

Open Sky International is seeking a dedicated teacher of English to join our secondary school located in Boulogne-Billancourt, just outside of Paris.

Our school

Open Sky International is a bilingual private institution, offering education in both French and English. Established in 2012, the school caters to early years and primary students, and now accommodates learners from the maternelle (early years) through to Terminale (Year 13 in the British system). Our older students undertake a blend of GCSE, IGCSE, International A Level, and A Level examinations. All students experience a bilingual curriculum, with approximately half of their classes conducted in French and the other half in English.

We are committed to delivering a high-quality bilingual education, drawing on the best elements of various international curricula and teaching methodologies. We maintain high standards from the beginning, striving for a curriculum that is challenging, comprehensive, and engaging. Our small class sizes foster a respectful, diligent, and motivated student body. As a truly international school, we serve both French and expatriate families, celebrating our diverse community. Our staff members, passionate about education, possess a solid grasp of effective teaching practices.

English is a core subject in our secondary school, with Pearson Edexcel GCSE English Language and English Literature offered in Year 11, and A Level English Language and Literature available as an option in the sixth form.

The role

We are looking to appoint a qualified teacher of English Language and Literature, capable of teaching at A Level. The specific timetable and subject assignments will be based on the expertise, skills, and experience of the chosen candidate, as well as the needs of our students and the curriculum for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Additionally, the successful applicant will be expected to engage with our after-school programme.

What kind of teacher are we looking for?

We are in search of a qualified and seasoned teacher with at least five years of relevant experience who:

- Is a native English speaker and is familiar with the English curriculum and qualification framework.
- Has experience teaching English Language and Literature at the GCSE and A Level.
- Holds a good honours degree and possesses qualified teacher status.
- Is an inspiring educator who can motivate and energize their classes.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for education and an understanding of effective teaching practices.
- Exhibits comprehensive curriculum knowledge and the ability to teach their subject confidently.
- Enjoys being part of a team and strives for collaborative work.

While knowledge of French is advantageous, it is not a requirement. For teachers needing assistance in developing their French language skills, the school will offer private tutoring. As a bilingual institution, all teachers are expected to communicate in French.

Candidates with existing rights to work within the European Union will be given priority.

What does OSI offer?

The role includes a competitive salary along with support for housing costs and assistance in finding accommodation in the Paris region if needed. Lunches at school are available for those who wish to partake.
